Captafer 30 Capsules
Iron and Alimentation
Iron is an essential element which plays a vital role for the human organism. The most common consequences of Iron deficiency are tiredness and weariness. In particular conditions, i. e. fertile women, due to the menstrual cycle, children and elderly, an unbalanced diet may easily cause iron deficiency. Only a little amount of iron present in food is usually absorbed and it can vary significantly in relation to the dietary composition. Human organism easily absorbs iron contained in food of animal origin (fish and meat), whilst iron contained in cereals, vegetables and fruit is scarcely bioavailable. Iron contained in meat is better absorbed thanks to the presence of glycosaminoglycans in the extracellular matrix of the muscular tissue that enhance Iron absorption.
What is Captafer™
Captafer™ is a food supplement of Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Zinc, Copper, Folic Acid and Hydrolyzed Fish Cartilage, recommended in case of increased physiological needs of these elements and to compensate for their lacking diets.
Captafer™ may optimize nutritional supplies, favouring the physiological functions of the organism and the metabolic processes, and facilitating the absorption of Iron from food. The administration of Captafer™ is also recommended in case of physiological need of Folic Acid, for example during pregnancy. Hydrolyzed fish cartilage is rich in glycosaminoglycans, which are source of oligosaccharides, able to promote iron absorption from food.
